from dental xrays I need to extract the contours.

By "contours" do you mean lines of constant intensity, or lines of high image gradient ("edges")? And when you say "extract", what representation do you want to use for the result - a binary image perhaps?

contours mean the edges and extraction will be from gray scale image. pls help me fr dis condition.Thanks in advance!
