Overview
Traditional fixed-gain control often leaves efficiency on the table in nonlinear, time varying systems like solar converters and power stages. In this webinar, we’ll show how to implement extremum seeking control (ESC) in Simulink to maximize operating efficiency in real time, using an MPPT style example that generalizes to other power equipment. About the Presenter
Mohsen Aleenejad
Senior Application Engineer, MathWorks
Mohsen focuses on Energy and Power systems as well as Industrial Automation, especially in Power Electronics and Power System applications. Before MathWorks, he was a senior power electronics engineer at InnoCit LLC, working on renewable energy systems, and at PowerItPerfect Inc., focusing on Active Front End motor drives. Mohsen earned his Ph.D. in Power Electronics from the University of Kansas, specializing in multi-level power converters and fault-tolerant power electronics systems. Post-Ph.D., he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at New York University, collaborating with Boeing on an Active Load Profiler for aircraft power source testing.
