Full-Vehicle Modelling and Simulation for Formula Student Cars
Overview
This webinar series focuses on the development and use of full-vehicle simulation models for Formula Student–type race cars. The sessions present a system-level modelling approach that connects vehicle dynamics, suspension and tire behaviour, multibody representations, and powertrain architectures into a single simulation framework.
We will discuss how individual subsystem models, such as suspension systems, tire force generation, and electric powertrain components are integrated to analyse vehicle behaviour under representative driving and competition scenarios. Emphasis is placed on model structure, parameterization, and the role of simulation in understanding trade-offs related to handling, stability, and energy usage.
The series also covers the use of virtual simulation environments and 3D visualization to interpret vehicle motion, loads, and interactions, supporting design decisions before physical testing.
The webinars will conclude with a live Q&A, giving you the chance to ask questions directly to our automotive engineering team.
