Senior Application Engineer- IT Development

Job Summary

MathWorks is seeking a highly motivated individual with technical experience and interest in integrating MathWorks products with enterprise IT systems. By deeply engaging and partnering with customers in this area, you will influence the way they use MathWorks products. The work will involve recommending technical approaches using the existing products and developing proof of concept software solutions for potential future products. Travel can be expected anywhere from 5% to 30%, generally throughout US to EMEA and Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Establish credibility with our customers by using your industry experience in enterprise IT systems to integrate with MathWorks products 
  • Lead technical projects with key enterprise customers 
  • Develop software reference architectures and extensions to MathWorks products to meet customer needs
  • Work closely with internal sales and other customer-facing staff to provide technical guidance for successful adoption of MathWorks products
  • Provide feedback to Development organization on MathWorks products based on customer interactions/requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Programming knowledge of one or more of: Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, C/C++.
  • Customer-facing experience required
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Data analytics or data science experience a plus
  • Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink is a plus
  • Broad interest in IT systems integration. Domain experience in one or more of the following areas:
      • Cloud, e.g. Azure, AWS & GCP
      • Big Data, e.g. Hadoop & Spark
      • Messaging and IoT related technologies, e.g. Kafka & IoT Hub
      • Databases, e.g. MongoDB, SQL Server & Cassandra
      • Visualization, e.g. Tableau, Power BI & Spotfire
