VDI Engineer

Job Summary

This position is part of the global End-User Computing (EUC) team, which is responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and user-centric digital workspace solutions across the enterprise. The team focuses on enabling productivity through virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), endpoint management, and cross-platform support for Windows, and Linux environments.
 
The role contributes to the development and support of virtualized end-user experiences using the Omnisa VDI Horizon platform. It plays a key part in ensuring seamless access to enterprise applications and services, while maintaining high standards of performance, security, and user satisfaction.
 
Collaboration with global teams and engagement with end-users are central to the team’s mission of continuously improving the digital workplace and driving innovation in end-user computing.

Responsibilities

Join our global End-User Computing (EUC) team, focused on delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly digital workspace solutions. This role supports our virtual desktop infrastructure and endpoint management platforms, helping drive innovation and operational excellence across the enterprise.
 
As a VDI Engineer, you will:
  • Manage and maintain the VMware Horizon VDI environment
  • Optimize performance and proactively resolve VDI-related issues
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the global EUC strategy
  • Support provisioning and deployment systems
  • Automate operational tasks and improve processes through scripting
  • Collaborate on global infrastructure projects and provide second-level support

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), especially Omnissa Horizon
  • Proficiency in Windows, and Linux desktop operating systems
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and network protocols
  • Experience with client provisioning tools (Foreman, JAMF, Intune, AutoPilot)
  • Scripting skills for automation and process improvement
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with global delivery environments and cross-functional collaboration
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong critical thinking skills
  • Experience supporting international teams and infrastructure
  • Occasional travel may be required for collaboration or project support
