How to build constant power load in simulink?

87 views (last 30 days)
I want to build a constant power load in simulink and I use controlled current I=P/Vdc, as shown in figure. But the result is wrong. The output voltge is very large because of the dclink capacitor. I don't know how to modify. As I have to do the simulation for step change of constant power load to see the result, I cannot use the series load block.

Hi...may be you can try using a 3 phase dynamic load block----set the required P and Q which will be equal to the initial Po and Qo since they do not change in time. Set the exponents np = 0 and nq =0 and all time constants as zero----if you want a 1 phase load out of it, try connecting all three input ports of 3 phase dynamic load block by a high value 3 phase parallel Resistor and connect only one port to the concerned phase.

Then connect the measurements output to a demux....then add a divide block to do P/V and give this as input signal to a controlled current source....

Single phase dynamic load can be found in example: "power_1phdynamicload" and you can set it as const. PQ, I ,Z by setting 0,1 and 2 resp.

Hello,
In Matlab/Simulink 2013, single phase dynamic load does not exist as block to use it.
Is there any version included that block?
Thank you

@Shashank,@xu qianwen,@abde amar Please do you have an idea on i can model three phase PQ load? Please your assistance would be highly appreciated.
