Show error message, Ignore it and save the error information in a file

I would like to do what the title says...

My code EITHER shows the message and interrupts the code OR ignores the error and continues.

This one ignores it:

try
aboveA = find(Data(:, 1) > A);
~isempty(aboveA)
   msgbox(sprintf('Values at index %d are bigger than %d', aboveA, A), 'Error');
catch
end

And this one shows and interrupts:

try aboveA = find(Data(:, 1) > A); ~isempty(aboveA) catch msgbox(sprintf('Values at index %d are bigger than %d', aboveA, A), 'Error'); end

Any ideas?
