Matlab r2015a crashes on OS X Yosemite when analyzing a large dataset

I have a MATLAB program that is supposed to crank through 50-100 GB of imaging data, do some analyses on each image, and then save the results. It always ran correctly using r2013a on Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Recently I upgraded to Yosemite and r2015a. My program still runs, but MATLAB crashes after working on a dataset for a while. The crashes happen at different points during program execution, suggesting they are not due to a specific bug in my code. They also don't appear to be specific to the data that I'm analyzing, because if I re-start the analysis at the point right before the previous crash, it successfully finishes the image that it was working on when it crashed (but then it crashes again later on).

Although the timing of the crashes is random as far as I can tell, the stack trace (from the crash report) is always the same:
