I get the position of the imfreehand using
re =imfreehand(gca); position = getPosition(re);
now I need to know , is it possible to use this "position" to retrieve the desired roi ? Or is it possible to use this position in creating mask?

I have seen this demo. But what I need is to use the position which I get in previous execution and set that position value in future execution of code

You can save either the binary image mask, or the x,y coordinates, or both to a .mat file with the save() function. Then on future executions, call load() to recall the mask data.
