can (SURF) detect interest point from binary images or just from grayscale image

The demo https://www.mathworks.com/help/gpucoder/examples/feature-extraction-using-surf.html?s_tid=answers_rc2-1_p4_MLT shows it being used with a color image.

yes but your answer talk about RGB am asking about binary image , can surf detect interest point from segmentation image (binary image)

Oh, sorry - misread/read too fast. Give it a try. Cast to uint8 if it doesn't work.
