How to increase the resolution when visualising a figure (not when exporting or saving it) in 2D?

Hi All,
Do you know how to increase the resolution when visualising a figure (not when exporting or saving it) in 2D?
I have a figure of a simulation grid, where visualisation of my faces or grid looks distorted. I need a more ‘precise’ line.
I use plotCellData() or plotNodeData() functions from SINTEF (MRST), but the problem I think is how MATLAB plots 2D objects.
