GUIDE lagging on Matlab 2018b

I have an application written in GUIDE in Matlab R2017a, it works perfectly fine in Matlab R2018a, but for some reason doesn't work in Matlab R2018b.
The problem seem to be with popupmenu after clicking which the app freezes. I wasn't able to verify wether there are other problems as this is the aforementioned problem appears within the first step when using the app.
I tried to create simple popup menu in the 2018b version and it worked, so I truly don't know where the problem is.
Does anyone have a similar problem or, possibly, a solution?
