can I run the matlab code file made in old days in recent version of matlab

I downloaded matlab code for my assignment.
but I can't run this code. my matlab is 2019 version and that code was made 20years ago.
is that because code file is old?

@Image Analyst, I agree that it strictly answers the question, however, it doesn't solve the issue. If Dong Hyeon Yu is content with my response, I'll be happy to move it to the answer section. As I expect they want to solve the issue itself, I prefer to wait for the actual function to be posted.

Some function have been removed, some syntaxes have changed. Most of Matlab is backwards compatible, but not 100% is. The more complex functions tend to break sooner, so the only way to help you make the function compatible is to share it here (if you have the right to share it).
If you want us to help you make the function compatible with new releases we will need the function itself, and it would be helpfull to know what release you're running and to have an estimate for which release the code was written.
It could also be that you're using the function incorrectly, so when attaching the file, please also make sure to mention what code you're using to call that function, so we can fully reproduce your issue.
