32 bit MATLAB on 64 bit machine - Unable to start JVM because of an invalid Java option

4 views (last 30 days)
I am running a 32-bit MATLAB R2010bSP2 on 64-bit machine. It was working alright until I restarted my machine today. When I try to open the application, it reads - 'Unable to start JVM because of an invalid Java option'.
I am guessing it could because of some kind of update coz' of which it has been rendered incompatible. Can anybody suggest how to fix this?

Thanks.
The technical support team directed me to clear the preferences. To do this, type %appdata% in Start. This should open up a folder ../AppData/Roaming/MathWorks. Select MATLAB and delete the folder R2010b. And it worked!
