A simple program on channel estimation with different interpolation techniques
Randomly generated information is modulated using 16 QAM and passed through Rayleigh fading channel and AWGN is added.PSAM (pilot symbol assisted modulation)i.e pilot symbols are inserted into sequence of information symbols periodically is done before transmission inorder to estimate channel coefficients. At receiver first pilot symbols are seperated and channel coefficient at pilot frequencies are calculated by dividing received pilot symbol amplitude by actual pilot symbol amplitude.Using these values , channel values inbetween are interpolated by using different interpolation techniques(FFT , spline cubic, cubic, linear).BER vs SNR curves are generated for each interpolation technique and concluded that spline cubic interpolation technique is more efficient one.
