Hardware-Software Prototyping of an LTE MIB Recovery Design

Wireless applications have to process signals under real-world conditions, such as weak signal strength and interference. Once a design has been verified as much as possible with simulation using generated or captured waveforms, prototyping on an FPGA development kit allows for real-time processing of live over-the-air signals. This example shows a hardware-software implementation of an LTE master information block (MIB) recovery application running on a software-defined radio kit using the Communications Toolbox™ Support Package for Xilinx® Zynq®-Based Radio. Learn how to:

    • Find, download, and install the support package
    • Open the model that ships with the support package
    • Design hardware-software interface control functionality
    • Generate HDL and software drivers with AXI4 interfaces
    • Deploy software to a connected Xilinx Zynq device
    • Run a prototype in external mode
