After logging into Polyspace® Access, you will see the Project Overview dashboard. It provides a graphical overview of the project quality and trend information, as well as the ability to drill down to further detail about the findings. Additional dashboards are quickly accessible, focused on specific families of findings as well as code metrics.

Now that you have logged in, let’s look at the dashboard. There are three main sections: the toolstrip, the Project Explorer, and the main content area. The main content area starts with the default dashboard Project Overview. It has three key sections: the summary section, trends, and details. In the summary section, you will find open issues, code metrics, and summaries of the findings. These summaries are displayed by family. In the second section, you find trends—the number of open findings over time—and finally, in the third section, we see details. This allows you to drill down further into specific projects or files to find out what’s going on. The final section of the dashboard is the toolstrip.
From the toolstrip, you can add additional dashboards to the main content area. Because we are on a Code Prover project, we can add, for example, run time checks. As you can see, just like in Project Overview, we start each dashboard with open issues and a summary of the work remaining to be done. We have a trend line and we have details. In this case, you can look at the details by category of finding or by file. We can see that example C has 13 total findings and then look down to see what categories they are in. We can look by category, and see that there are 13 data flow issues and see which files these are in.
Now, I have added a MISRA dashboard. I may not like the layout I have here and want to reorganize things. I can do that by simply pulling on the tabs. If I don’t like my new setup, I can go back to the toolstrip and reset the layout. From the toolstrip, I can also open these results in the desktop version of Polyspace. I can also go to Review. We will talk about Review more in another video.
Another important aspect of the toolstrip is this quick access bar. Click the question mark; in this section, you can get to both print and video information about the dashboard, about the review side of Polyspace Access, Polyspace Bug Finder documentation, and Polyspace Code Prover documentation. This ends this video. Please see our other videos on Review and other key features.
