Simplifying Physical Layer Design Using Model-Based Design Approach in Simulink

From the series: Signal Processing and Wireless – Webinar Series

    Chuppala Harish, Bharat Electronics Ltd

This webinar will primarily focus on the customized physical layers (L1) design for Software Defined Radios and the challenges in implementing them in hardware and share the best practices in MATLAB not only to design and simulate but also the implementation of it on hardware. Secondly, you will understand how simple model-based approach in Simulink is to generate HDL code than conventional RTL writing especially in the wireless communication domain.

    Highlights

    • Modelling customized physical layers of various technologies like OFDM, DSSS, single carrier
    • Discussion of complex algorithms implementation in conventional approach and model-based approach
    • Ease of having multiple Physical Layers in single Simulink model
    • Quantifying performance with various standard channel models
    • Deploying algorithmic models on target hardware
