The Use of MATLAB and Simulink in the Unmanned Air Systems Design Process
Sandy McCuish, BAE Systems
Over the last decade, the BAE Systems Military Air & Information business unit, based at Warton, has created a highly developed Unmanned Air Systems capability based on the demonstration of a wide range of UAS products. The use of MATLAB and Simulink in an existing Model-Based Design process has been a key enabler in the rapid development and demonstration of these products.
The presentation will provide insight into the replacement of in-house developed tools with MATLAB and Simulink, focusing primarily on the Flight Control Laws and Flight Control System perspective. It will also show how the use of MATLAB and Simulink products has migrated beyond the Flight Control Laws and Flight Control System community. The presentation will conclude with a view of future developments.
