Senior Product Marketing Engineer - Control Systems

Job Summary

 

In this role, you will leverage your industry experience, product management expertise, technical background, and business acumen to foster use of MATLAB and Simulink products for control system analysis and design. You will collaborate with product development teams and stakeholders on product direction, planning, launch, and sales enablement.

This unique position involves global responsibilities and direct engagement with key customers to assess their development workflows in the context of developing and implementing control systems.

This position is based at our headquarters in Natick, MA and requires in-person 3 days a week per our hybrid schedule.

 

Responsibilities

Control System Analysis and Design: Lead the adoption of MathWorks products and capabilities for analyzing, designing, tuning, and deploying traditional and data-driven control algorithms.

Product Management: Collect, synthesize and prioritize customer requirements, latent needs, and use cases; work with other product managers and development teams to evolve  MathWorks control design products to provide best-in-class support for control system analysis and design. Collect and prioritize market data to guide development of new features.

Positioning: Lead the development of buyer personas, positioning, and differentiated messages.

Sales Support: Support customer-facing teams with the knowledge and tools necessary to successfully prospect, qualify, sell, and drive adoption. These include customer presentations, demos, differentiators, and selling tactics.  Visit leading customers to prove the selling model and get direct voice-of-customer feedback.

Thought Leadership: Project thought leadership by presenting at conferences, expos, and seminars and interviews with influencers and editors.

Content Development: Provide subject matter expertise to lead the planning and creation of content, reinforcing messages to drive awareness and adoption across multiple inbound marketing channels and global locations. This includes web pages, offers, videos, technical papers, conference talks, and event content.

Impact: Measure business impact and develop plans to enhance penetration and growth in both commercial industries and academia.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related scientific discipline with a focus in Control Systems
  • Demonstrated experience with product management
  • Successful experience in all phases of product management including market assessment, strategy, partnerships, positioning, launch, and sales enablement.  Training and experience in the Pragmatic Marketing Framework is a plus.
  • Experience working with software development, marketing, application engineering, and sales teams in a highly collaborative, consensus-based team environment a plus.
  • Product management in data science, signal processing, control systems, or technical computing areas.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidate should expect to travel about 10% of the time
