Description
Select the ESP32-S3 module variant installed on the target hardware board. The module selection determines the available GPIO pins, memory configuration, and supported peripherals. Different modules have different pin mappings, flash sizes, and PSRAM availability.
Dependencies
To enable this parameter, set Hardware board to ESP32-S3
Series (Arduino Compatible).
Changing this parameter updates the available entries in the Board parameter, as each module supports different development kit boards.
Settings
- ESP32-S3-WROOM-1/1U
General-purpose module with 4 MB flash, no PSRAM. Pins GPIO 1-21 and GPIO 38-48 available. Connected I/O board: ESP32-S3-DevKitC.
- ESP32-S3-WROOM-2/2U
Module with 4 MB flash and PSRAM support. Same pin availability as WROOM-1. Connected I/O board: ESP32-S3-DevKitC.
- ESP32-S3-MINI-1/1U
Compact module with additional GPIO pins available (GPIO 26, GPIO 33-37). Connected I/O board: ESP32-S3-DevKitM.
Recommended Settings
Select the module that matches the physical hardware on your development board. Verify the module type printed on the ESP32-S3 chip on your board.
