You can add support for LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3 hardware to the Simulink® product by installing the Simulink Support Package for LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Hardware.
This process installs the following items on your host computer:
Third-party software development tools
A Simulink block library
After you complete this installation and set up the EV3 hardware, you can run Simulink models on your LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 hardware.
For convenience, this document also refers to the EV3 hardware as “hardware” or “target hardware”.
On the MATLAB® Home tab, in the Environment section, select Add-Ons > Get Hardware Support Packages.
In the Add-On Explorer window, click the support package and then click Install.
On the MATLAB Home tab, in the Environment section, select Help > Check for Updates.
On the MATLAB Home tab, in the Environment section, click Add-Ons > Manage Add-Ons.
In the Add-On Manager window, find and click the support package, and then click Uninstall.
If you clicked Setup Later at the end of the Add-On Manager installation process, you can restart hardware setup process.
On the MATLAB Home tab, in the Environment section, click Add-Ons > Manage Add-Ons. When the Add-On Manager opens, click Setup
the MATLAB Command Window.
In Support Package Installer, follow the on-screen instructions for each screen to install the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3.
For more information about the options on a particular screen, click the Help button.
On the last screen, click Finish.
Leave Show support package examples enabled to show Simulink Support Package for LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Hardware Examples.
