Applications and Tasks in Simscape Electrical
Simscape Electrical™ is used in a wide range of mechatronic applications. An electromechanical actuation system is used to show how a simulation can help engineers select motors and drives, evaluate circuit architectures, and design control systems. In the actuation system, a motor and motor driver are controlled by an analog circuit. System performance is evaluated at the system level by measuring how well the system holds a constant speed under a varying load. Performance is also measured at a detailed level by examining power spikes in MOSFETs within the motor drive circuitry.
