Comparing Different Fixed-Point Data Types for Efficient Design
This video highlights the workflow and some of the key features in the Fixed-Point Designer™ that can help you iterate over different fixed-point data type word length proposals in order to analyze, compare, and select the optimum fixed-point data type choice for your target microprocessor or FPGA hardware.
This video demonstrates how you can use the Fixed-Point Tool to analyze different word length choices in just three clicks. You can easily compare the quantization noise for a particular word length against the ideal double precision simulation in the Simulink® Data Inspector. You can even visualize the signal behavior for a certain word length proposal with regards to overflow and underflow behavior.
