Check safety-related solver settings for simulation time

mathworks.hism.hisl_0040

Dependencies: Simulink® Check™

Usage: High-Integrity System Modeling

Guideline: hisl_0040: Configuration Parameters > Solver > Simulation time

Description

This check verifies that the model configuration uses optimal parameter settings pertaining to simulation time for generating code for a safety-related application.

Recommended Actions and Results

Review the violations that are flagged by the check and the recommended action for fixing the issue. After applying the changes, save the model and rerun the check analysis.

If you consider the flagged violation to either not be relevant or not feasible for your design, use the Justify button to provide rationale as to why the violation is either not relevant or not feasible for your design.

You can use the Fix button to allow the Model Advisor to fix all flagged violations. For this check, the Model Advisor configures model code generation settings that can impact safety.

Modeling ConditionRecommended Action
The start time for the simulation or generated code is set to a value other than 0.0.Set model configuration parameter Start time to 0.0 or set the parameter StartTime to '0.0'.
The stop time for the simulation or generated code is set to a negative value or a positive value greater than the value of Application lifespan (days). By default, Application lifespan (days) is set to auto for models configured to use a data code interface. For models configured to use a service code interface, the default is inf. If you do not change this setting, a positive value for Stop time is valid.Set model configuration parameter Stop time to a positive value that is less than the value of Application lifespan (days).

Capabilities and Limitations

  • Does not require model compilation

  • Does not run on library models

  • Does not allow exclusions of blocks or charts
