Software Component Designer for Simulink® lets you develop modular software components for service-oriented architecture (SOA) applications. It lets you simulate communication and execution behavior for software architectures (using System Composer). You can then generate, tune and deploy complete applications for Embedded Linux (using Embedded Coder).
With the Software Component Designer app, you can model SOA Components by defining attributes like service providers and consumers using Send-Receive, Client-Server interfaces and Execution on Data Arrival, while allowing you to develop and reuse platform independent algorithms.
Software Component Designer provides an end-to-end workflow for developing modern SOA applications, offering the following capabilities:
  • Automatically map a Simulink model to a software component and configure its service interfaces using the Software Component Designer app
  • Simulate the communication and execution behavior of multi-component software compositions (Requires System Composer)
  • Validate and test component and composition behaviors by automatically generating architecture test harness (Requires Simulink Test)
  • Top down authoring of service interface definitions for your software components (Requires System Composer)
  • Seamlessly remap models between Embedded Linux and AUTOSAR Adaptive platforms (Requires AUTOSAR Blockset)
  • Generate and deploy complete applications to supported platforms (Requires Embedded Coder)
