Summary | Power Plant Model Validation (PPMV) with MATLAB and Simulink, Part 2
From the series: Power Plant Model Validation (PPMV) with MATLAB and Simulink
For online performance monitoring of grid events, data replay involves exciting the plant model through physical measurements of voltage or current at the grid point-of-connection. It is common to consider voltage (V), frequency (F), active-power (P), and reactive-power (Q) as the four measurements necessary to perform PPMV. Two data replay paradigms are available with these four measurements:
- PQ replay and compare simulated VF with measured VF.
- VF replay and compare simulated PQ with measured PQ.
To obtain the most insight into system response and establish the most robust parameter estimation workflow, both PQ replay and VF replay can be used simultaneously. Engineering judgement is used to manually tune parameters based on engineering experience, before automated techniques are applied.
