Create Collections and Groups

When you author or copy assessment items, MATLAB® Grader™ stores them in collections, consisting of groups of assessment items. Groups can help you organize assessment items.

As you build your content repository, you can add other collections to suit your needs. Later, you can use these assessment items in courses you create, either in MATLAB Grader or in an integrated LMS.

Collections can access all MathWorks® products and toolboxes, regardless of what is on your license.

Add Collections and Groups

  1. Go to the MATLAB Grader home page (sign in, if necessary). In the Collections tab, click Create Collection.

You are prompted for the name of the collection, and for the name of the first group in that collection (you can change names later, if you want).

  2. From within a collection, click Add Group. Repeat this step for as many groups as you want within this collection.

Tip

To more easily find, reuse, and share assessment items as your course evolves, organize your collections in a way that matches your course structure. For example, within a collection, create groups based on time (such as "Week 1," "Week 2," "Week 3") or by topic (such as "Topic A," "Topic B," "Topic C").

Add Assessment Items to a Collection

  • When you are viewing a group within a collection, click Add Assessment Item to add an assessment item to that group.

  • From your MATLAB Grader home page, you can click Add Assessment Item within any collection.

  • From MathWorks Collections, select an assessment item, and then click Copy. MATLAB Grader prompts you to specify a collection and group.

View and Organize Collections

To view and organize your collections:

  • View — To view all of your collections, click the Collections tab.

To delete a collection:
