Some security software might change the file extension when download_agent.jnlp is scanned and saved. If download agent doesn’t have the .jnlp extension, then it will not launch. Change the extension to .jnlp to launch the download agent.
If you cannot see or are unable to change the extension, then that means that “hide extensions” has been enabled on your system. To disable this:
Windows:
1) Navigate to the folder where you saved download_agent
2) Click the “Organize” menu in the top left corner of the window.
3) Click on “Folder and search options.”
4) Click on the “View” tab in the window that pops up.
5) Locate “Hide extensions for known file types” and disable it by clicking the checkbox.
Mac:
1) Bring the Finder to focus by clicking on the blue face on the left side of the dock.
2) Open the Finder menu, and then click Preferences
3) Click on the “advanced” tab
4) Check “Show all filename extensions.”
You should now be able to view and edit the file extension of download_agent. If, for some reason, you are unable to get the download agent to work, then you can always use the manual download. On the page that triggers the download agent, click on "If you experience problems using the Download Agent, try manual download," and follow the instructions on that page.
