How to get past the Initializing mode after a stand alone R2010b MatLab Installation?

7 views (last 30 days)
I apparently was able to Install MatLab 2010b on Windows 7 OS and Activate without errors, but when I ran the program, it is stuck in Initializing... mode. No Internet service is available to my computer. I put the license.lic file (same file used to activate) in the Documents/MATLAB folder, but it still does not initialize. Any Suggestions?

Same result, program starts, but is stuck in initialing... mode. I did try the "matlab.exe -c c:\My Documents\MATLAB", that gave me a License checkout failed message, but the file used to activate was at this location. I moved the file to a folder path that did not include a " ", and now it does the same as before (no failed message pop-up): program starts, but is stuck in initializing... mode.

When R1012b was loaded with the same license, the install, activation and program ran fine. Only variable I can think of is that the license file is not compatible with R2010b. So, be careful when changing license files with earlier versions.
Thanks for your help.
