how to change resolution of image without changing dimensions

I want to change the resolution of image without changing dimension of image.

How we can use it for segmentation, or how it is improve result of segmentation.

Changing resolution without changing dimensions probably will not help. But it depends on what you mean.

To improve the result of segmentation, use a better segmentation algorithm or use better parameters for the algorithm. In some cases your algorithm might have to be quite complicated.
