            I have purchased MATLAB Student Version. The name of version is R2014a. For how long the license is valid for this version?

				Although some forum member might answer this question, I would only trust the sales team of Mathworks.

        Meghna, the MATLAB student version is a perpetual license. Which means you can use it indefinitely, as long as you are a student, of course. See also the FAQ for reference.

				I have bought a student license almost a year ago, however Matlab send me an email to extend and buy it again. I thought a student license will have effect as long as I am as a student, as perpetual. Do I need to pay again? Thank you very much in advance.

				The message was probably about software maintenance service like discussed above. You do NOT need to pay the fee to continue to use the software. The fee covers upgrades, and access to old documentation, and access to MATLAB Online service.
Exception: at one time it was possible to purchase an 8 month or 1 year student license through campus bookstores. I have not heard of that lately but I do not know if they stopped offering it.
