calculating cdf with a matrix as an argument

I am trying to calculate the CDF, but want to calculate over a range, so I use a matrix as an argument, and get an error. Can someone point out what I'm doing incorrectly? Thanks.

cdf = .5*(1+erf((delta-mu)/(sqrt(2*sigma^2))))
