MATLAB R2013b installation problems on Windows 8 64 bit

Hi there,

I am having problems in the installation of MATLAB R 2013b on Windows 8 64 bit. Whereas all the available files/ folders are downloaded, when I execute the setup.exe file, it shows "Please wait Windows configures Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable " and then, just finishes and nothing happens.

I dont have any other versions of MATLAB installed on my laptop that might conflict etc. I saw some similar messages on the forum for other releases of MATLAB but I didnt understand how it worked. Any help really appreciated cause I really need to work on MATLAB these days!
