matlab doesn't save last working folder

I have selected in the general tab of the preferences to use the last working folder as the intial working folder, but everytime I open Matlab it sharts from MATLAB\R2018b\bin. Is there something I should do for matlab to save the last working folder?

I have the same problem, can't find the cause. Appears to be a Matlab bug that activates for uknown reasons.

Figured it out from other posts. I made my own shortcut to start Matlab. You need to remove the text in the 'start in' field of shortcut properties, then it works.
