I had .xyz data. I fiited the data to a best-fit plane. Now I want to rotate the axes such that the best-fit plane lies on xy plane (z=0). Is there any way i can do it ?

why not simply retrieve the z data of your fit plane to the z data of your experimental data ?
you may need to interpolate the plane z coordinates to the x,y experimental data coordinates

Hi Animesh,
I understand that you want to rotate the axes such that this best-fit plane lies on xy plane (z=0).
I would like to suggest you use “rotate” to rotate the best-fit plane accordingly.
You can refer to the following MATLAB Documentation for more information about how to rotate object about specified origin and direction:
I hope this helps you.
Warm Regards,
Pranjal.

If i use 'rotate', it will only rotate the best-fit plane not the whole thing. But the distance of fit plane from the xyz points will get changed. What I want here is to rotate the axes so that other things remain as it is.
