Display 4D double size with Editor datatips

For ease of navigation, I would like to use the Editor datatips feature to get the size of a 4D double matrix. I noticed that if the matrix is double, the datatips displays "4-D double". If it is single precision, it correctly displays the size of the array. Is there a custom settings to change this behavior? Is it intended as such?

To, as the title suggests, "display [the] 4D double [matrix] size [by hovering over with] the Editor datatips".

If you mean you want the dimensions displayed in the form AxBxCxD, I don't think there is any way to have the Editor datatip do so. However, there is a version of whos() on the File Exchange that will do it,
M=rand(3,4,5,6,2);
>> whos M
Name Size Bytes Class Attributes
M 5-D 5760 double
>> Whos M
Name Size Kilobytes Class Attributes
M 3x4x5x6x2 5.625 double

That is indeed what I want. It's weird that it displays correctly for single-precision but no for double-precision ones. The Whos functions from FileExchange is interesting.
