I tried to install an older version of the application instead of the same package that I kept redownloading, assuming that the problem may be related to the 2023b version for Mac Silicon. Thankfully, it worked on version 2023a the non silicon version, for macOS devices. So, maybe if someone has the same problem, it is because of a problem in the package; other than that, no clue what may have caused this. I will turn off automatic update feature for the time being. Thanks for the help offered.
