Computer crashing, need to migrate Matlab to new computer. What is best practice?

1 view (last 30 days)
I have purchased a new computer and have it up and running now.
Need to move Matlab to it from my old computer.
I think Matlab is tied to both the computer and disk driver serial #.
Should I download everything again, or is there a method to copy from old computer?
Thanks, Bob

You should go to the My Account section of MATLAB Central, by going up to the top right of this page and clicking on your username and clicking on My Account from there. There will be a link to the License Center. Use the License Center to deactivate the license against the old system. Install MATLAB on the new system -- copying it over would miss any appropriate registry keys (MS Windows) or /Library changes (OS-X). Eventually it will ask you to register your system; do so against the appropriate license.
