Sorry, i've sorted this now. It seems the update rolled back the version of java i had installed. I only realised this when i tried to launch another app and it said the version of java was not compatible.
Matlab won't launch on MAC

Hi,
For some reason, matlab (version 2011a) won't launch on Mac OSX 10.6.8 (Intel core 2 duo). This has just happened this morning after the Mac did an update. Matlab was working fine the other day.
Here's what happens:
- I click on matlab in the applications folder
- The icon appears in the icon bar to indicate it is loaded and then a few seconds later it disappears.
I have tried downloading the most recent version of matlab to see if installing that would sort the problem. However, when i open the downloaded disk and run InstallForMacOSX, the same thing happens (the icon appears in the bar, and then disappears)
Apologies if this has already been answered or if this is quite a simple problem, I'm not a regular Mac user.
Thanks for any help,
Eoin

David Aaronson: which MATLAB release are you using, and which MacOS release are you using? Which Java version(s) do you have installed?
