Deactivate a trial license under linux to activate and test a trial license on windows 7

I have two downloaded trial releases for Matlab, that correspond to the same license number. It seems that I need to deactivate one (presently running on Linux) to be able to use the other one (thhat will run on win7). However, when asking to deactivate from the help menu, I get a message saying that ALL releases on the computer associated with that license will be unusable. So How would then I be able to activate the second release (win 7) which was already downloaded? Do I need to doenload again with a new license number?
