Can I use dir to read the images from the subfolders contains different names?

I have 812 folders with subfolders. Can anyone please help me to read the image in all folders.The following is the case for two images.

D:\Data\002_S_0413\MPR__GradWarp__B1_Correction__N3__Scaled\2006-05-02_12_31_52.0\S13893\ADNI_002_S_0413_MR_MPR__GradWarp__B1_Correction__N3__Scaled_Br_20070319115331858_S13893_I45117.nii
D:\Data\005_S_0619\MPR-R__GradWarp__N3__Scaled\2006-06-01_20_04_45.0\S15145\R__GradWarp__N3__Scaled_Br_20070411125458928_S15145_I48617.nii

Any help is really appreciated.

I don't know. I don't have MATLAB on my mac. By the way, attached is an updated version you can try with R2016b or later.
