How to make a matlab embedded block respond to an input signal real-time.

Hello everyone, I created a Matlab embedded function block in Simulink. The block does its job when I connect its input to a constant block (doesn't matter if it was a single number or a vector). I am trying to get my block to accept other sources such as sinewaves, random waves, ...etc. Any ideas on how to do that?
