Pause between execution of soundsc

I just upgraded from R2011a to R2011b on Windows 7. I find that there is a pause before and between executions of the soundsc command that wasn't present when I ran the same program on R2011a in XP. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Thanks.

Could be lots of reasons, but the key thing to remember is that you shouldn't depend on sound/soundsc/audioplayer to start without considerable latency (100 ms).

I think something else is going on. I just downloaded R2011a and ran the same program that uses soundsc and there was not latency - just like I experienced on the XP pc.
