how to divide the segmented image along its major axis

we have a segmented image, for that, to calculate the asymmetric index,we have to divide the image along its major axis,we are strucked here,please tell me how to divide the segmented image along its major axis. after that non overlapped area will be easily find ADVANCE THANKS
