Way to plot varying orientation spatially?

Hello,

Is anyone aware of a way to plot a gradient of varying orientation spatially?

I have a 60km shoreline that varies in degrees from North and want to plot, over that 60km, the shoreline orientation.

Any input helps! Thank you.

Hello,

quiver plot might be a good idea when plotting gradients. quiver3 might be useful for 3-dimensional case.

Also you can use it along with surf plot to create better visualization.
