ActiveX Server Creation Failed with no error message
Show older comments
I'm trying to call a dll using an activeX server (KULI 64-bit dll, matlab R2015b x64). I register the activeX server in a try/catch block and output the error message, but the only message I recieve is "Server Creation Failed: ".
KULI = actxserver('KuliAnalysis2.KuliAnalysisCtr2.10.1SR1.x64');
I have registered the dll in the registry, and added the folder to the windows path.
How can I proceed with the error analysis?

Hello
Server creation failure can be caused due to an unclean registry. The wrong CLSID may be referenced for the MATLAB.Application node in the registry. Follow the below mentioned steps to resolve this issue:
- Unregister all installed MATLAB versions using unregserver startup flag.
- Go through the registry and delete any CLSIDs and references to the MATLAB automation server.
- After ensuring that the registry is cleaned up, register the required MATLAB version.
