Saving multiple figures in script

I'm trying to write a code that will produce multiple figure images.

The code will take the input variables and graph it and I need to save the resulting figures.

I tried using

    saveas(gcf,'abc_%03d.bmp', i); %save the current figure

But for some reason it'll constantly give me an error because of the ", i" part.

I need to find out how to save these multiple figures.
