What does ;= mean?

I found this operator ;= in a twenty-year-old code. For example: (abs(f-fopt)<=optim.TolFun && termx>=limxterm )
or
if ni>=1 && ni<=n/2 && flat<=3, kflat=kflat+1;
What does ;= do here? Thanks.

@Yiting Xu: the sequence ;= does not appear anywhere in the code examples that you have given.

there is no ;= operator in Matlab,you can get all Matlab operators here http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/operators-and-elementary-operations.html

Thanks! I think matlab just replaced it by >=, and I think then actually I got my answer haha.
