What is the "Service and Date" ?

Today, i purchased MATLAB Student version.
in license page, i saw "Service and Date : 2017 SEP 30"
it's meaning i can use MATLAB just until 2017 SEP 30 ???????
and i saw "Term : perpetual". Term and "Service and Date" which one i need belive ?
Please let me know.

Minjae, the student version is a perpetual license, which means you can use the software indefinitely. Software Maintenance Service is included for the first year (up until 2017 SEP 30 in your case). After this one year you can renew the subscription to this service.

Not all Student Version licenses are perpetual: some of them are only for 8 months, or 1 year, or the duration of a MOOC.

The license for student version (i.e. MATLAB Student and MATLAB and Simulink Student Suite) are perpetual. The licenses that MOOC participants get are typically time limited licenses
